1
Remove any traces of makeup from your eyelashes. To remove makeup, apply an eye makeup remover to a cotton ball and, gently, wipe across your eyelashes. This prevents mascara from sticking to the eyelash curler once it clamps down and pulling the eyelash from the root.

2
Plug in the hairdryer and set it to medium heat. Turn the hairdryer on and blast the eyelash curler for five seconds. Heating the curler helps to curl the eyelashes. Heating is not necessary to use the eyelash curler; however, the heat will make a noticeable difference in curling your lashes.

3
Stand in front of a mirror and open your eyes wide. Place the eyelash curler above and below your eyelashes, so that the lashes are in the center section of the eyelash curler, where it will clamp down. Make sure your lashes are in before closing the clamp.

4
Close the clamp around your lashes and hold for five seconds. Release the clamp, and pull the curler away from your eye. Repeat the process with the other eye.
-
5
Apply mascara to the curled lashes. There is no need to curl your lower lashes.
