Step 1
You can transfer CDs directly into iTunes, so you will not need to follow this method to add songs from CDs. However, if you already have music saved to your computer, you can follow these steps.
-
Step 2
Open iTunes on your computer, and go to File. Go down the list to "Add to library."
-
Step 3
A small pop up window will open. In that window, navigate to the MP3 you want to import. Select it and click the Open button to add it to your iTunes library. You should now see the song in your iTunes library and will be able to put it on your iPod.
-
Step 4
Once the song is imported and in your iTunes, you can move it to whatever playlist you want it in.

on 12/28/2008 Thanks so much. I've been sort of wondering about this, but just never got around to giving it a try. Now I know. Isn't eHow wonderful?

on 12/28/2008 Great information, thanks! My kids got iPods for Christmas, so I inherited my daughter's old one. :) I have NO idea how to work it. LOL
