Everyday our world is changing. For the most part, not for the good. More and more people are struggling to survive. It will take an army of Heroes to pull us through. Heroes come in all forms. Troops fighting for our continued freedom and the freedom of others. Doctors with their medical knowledge, saving the lives of our loved ones. There are the teachers, who dedicate their lives to teaching our children and religious leaders who bring us the word of faith and salvation. Even animals such as dogs and monkeys, are trained to be heroes for our handicapped.
But anyone can be a hero. It takes no special training, only a desire to make a positive impact on the world. Are you a Hero?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • compassion
  • desire to help another

    Do they need your help?

    Do they need your help?

The simplest gesture can make you a hero. Is there someone elderly on your block that has no family? You could be their hero simply by sending them a card during the holidays, shoveling their walk if they are unable, making an extra batch of cookies for them when your baking or offering them a ride if they have no transportation.

  2. Step 2
    Can you save a life?

    Can you save a life?

Do you know of a child that is being abused or neglected? A simple phone call to a social service agency, could not only rescue them, but possibly save their lives.

  3. Step 3

Do you have more than you need?

There are local non-profit agencies, looking for people to help rescue families with food and clothes. Things that many of us take for granted.
Could you be their hero, by donating those cans of food that have been sitting in your cupboards for months, or giving away those articles of clothing that you no longer wear.

  4. Step 4
A prayer is priceless and costs nothing

A prayer is priceless and costs nothing

Are you afraid to make financial contributions to charities, because you are not sure where your money is going? There are national groups such as Wishuponahero.com that allow you to read the needs of individuals and their families. You can pick and choose who you would like to help, and know where your help is going. Sometimes the request can be as simple as a prayer, or a birthday card to put a smile on the face of a child.

  5. Step 5
    Reach out to someone

    Reach out to someone

By simply reaching out to anyone in need, will make you a hero in their eyes. Being a hero has no boundaries. It is not exclusive to your age, race, religion or financial status. Give it a try, become a hero to someone. The cost is little, the rewards are endless.
