How to Make More Friends on Xbox Live

Enjoy games, voice chat and private rooms with your friends on Xbox Live.

For newer members of Xbox Live, it may be difficult to find other players to add to your friend list. After you've added all the people you know in your personal life, you may wish to find Xbox Live friends online. Exhibit good sportsmanship during online games and behave maturely in forums and gamer groups to make other players more likely to add you as a friend. You can have up to 100 people on your Xbox Live friend list.

Instructions

1. Ask people from school, work or other aspects of your life for their gamertags if you think they use Xbox Live.

2. Send friend requests to people you've encountered in multiplayer games on Xbox Live. Include a brief message telling the other player what game you met in.

3. Join a private online gamer group or forum, or sign up for the forum on a video game review site. Search for groups related to your gaming interests; for example, look for a forum dedicated to "Halo" if you're looking for other players of that game franchise. Many forums have threads devoted to finding other players, and you can add your gamertag to one of these threads or send invites to people whose tags are on the list.

• Contacts from Microsoft Live Messenger will automatically be imported to your friend list if you connect to Messenger on Xbox Live.

• Children do not meet people you meet online or over Xbox Live!
