      Temporarily turn off UAC (User Account Control) by clicking Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on/off. The computer will then restart. Proceed to Step 2.

      Navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and look for FlashUtil9b. Once you have found this file, right click on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Proceed to Step 3.

      Follow the Flash Player installation wizard. The computer may need to restart after the installation has finished. Proceed to Step 4.

      This step is very important. Turn UAC (User Account Control) back ON by clicking Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on/off. The computer will then restart again. Proceed to Step 5.

      The above steps may also be used for Windows Vista 32 bit versions as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • If these steps do not work, you may need to use the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer which is included with Windows Vista 64 bit.

  • For security purposes, make sure you turn UAC (User Account Control) back ON.
