Things You'll Need:
- Desitin Original
- Pampers Sensitive Wipes
-
Step 1
If your baby gets a diaper rash, first make sure you change the baby often. It's ideal, to let the baby go without a diaper for awhile, but let's face it, that is not always practical. If you can't just leave the diaper off, check the baby often and try to get the wet or dirty diaper off the baby as soon as it gets soiled.
-
Step 2
Use Pampers Sensitive Wipes. We had started using just plain water when our little guy was just born and he ended up with a horrible diaper rash. We switched to Pampers Sensitive Wipes and they worked wonders. The wipes have a lotiony feel to them and it seems to really help children with sensitive skin. We were not able to use any other wipe on our child. If we switched even for a few days, he would end up with a rash.
-
Step 3
Used Desitin Original Diaper Cream. Use a diaper cream that has a lot of zinc oxide in it. Desitin Original Diaper Cream is 40% zinc oxide and it works really well. Use it every time you change your baby while they have a diaper rash, especially for over night.
-
Step 4
If your little one's skin gets too dried out, occasionally (like every other change or every two changes) instead of the desitin, use a little of A&D Ointment, but still make sure you use the Desitin for over night.

on 12/27/2008 Yeah, extra baths with gentle baby wash, sensitive wipes and Desitin. Diet too acid makes it worse, too.
