Step 1

Choose your theme. Tea culture is international and there are many interesting countries to choose from. Try Japan, England or India as an inspiration.
Step 2

Invite your guests. Set the mood of your party with creative invitations from Evite or hand make them to blend in with your theme. Encourage your guests to dress appropriate to the occasion; give them direction on what to wear.
Step 3

Shop for food. Choose delectable goodies in keeping with your theme. For example a Japanese party might include, sushi, miso soup, red bean paste sweets and plum, green and hibiscus teas.
Step 4

Lay the table with a floral centerpiece and add linens to dress up your table for the party.

Display your delicious food imaginatively in dinnerware that recalls your theme. At a Japanese party arrange the food beautifully in bento boxes with chopsticks for utensils. Stoneware cups and pots will add interest to a Japanese themed event.
Step 6

Don't forget the music. Choose music that will enhance the flow of your party but not disrupt it. Be creative, but remember the music is a background not the main event so keep it at a reasonable volume.
