Get Creative on Valentine's Day

Here are some creative ideas for Valentine's Day gifts for your sweetie!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Leave a trail of chocolate kisses around the house that leads to a gift.

  2. Step 2

Have a trail of notes with clues as to where the next note may be found. Write something sweet about the person in each note. The last note leads to a Valentine's Day present.

  3. Step 3

Dress like a butler or a maid and wait on your spouse all day long. Start by serving breakfast in bed with a red rose and a favorite periodical. If your man prefers tools to roses, you may want to put something like a wrench in the vase and tie a ribbon around it instead of the typical rose.

  4. Step 4

Place a new pair of earrings where your wife keeps hers and wait for her to find them.

  5. Step 5

Decorate the bedroom with candles(use flameless ones if you're worried about a fire hazard), flowers, and red satin sheets. Spritz a tiny amount of perfume into the air. Have a small decorative plate of chocolates waiting on the bedside table. Sprinkle the bed with rose petals.

  6. Step 6

Get a book your sweetheart will love but include a bookmark in between the pages that you made yourself! Use cardstock and cover it with clear contact paper or laminate it when you've finished to protect your masterpiece. On the bookmark you could write a note saying how much you love the person, write a poem, or draw/paint a picture. Don't forget to sign your name.

  7. Step 7

If your sweetie always wanted a pet, wrap up a stuffed animal and put a note on it saying that you want to take your spouse to the Humane Society and have her/him pick out the pet he/she likes best! If there's not one there at the moment just go back another day. I wouldn't just go ahead and bring a pet home as a gift though because you and your spouse may have very different ideas about what the perfect pet is. This would cause a bit of trouble and we don't want that now do we?

  8. Step 8

Go out to a French restaurant and just order desert.

  9. Step 9

Think about what your husband really needs to make his life easier. Make a gift box or basket out of these items. Does your husband have to get up to a cold car every morning? How about a box filled with a heated car seat cover, driving gloves, steering wheel cover, a warm hat, and a top notch ice scraper? Use a decorative tissue paper or some other such material to line the box with for a romantic effect.

  10. Step 10

A gift basket for her might include things like perfume, chocolates, jewelry, a decorative mug or glass, scented body lotion, scented decorative soap, slippers, etc. Line the basket with cloth or tissue paper and tie a ribbon with a bow on the basket for decoration.

  11. Step 11

You can tailor the gift to the person. Does your sweetheart like to write? How about a set of pretty monogrammed pens and a journal? You can leave a note with them saying that you always knew she was the "write" woman for you.

  12. Step 12

If he/she loves to laugh and has a great sense of humor, compose a funny love poem for him/her.

  13. Step 13

If your spouse loves the theatre, take him/her out to a dinner theatre.

  14. Step 14

Book a room at a hotel with an indoor water park and play all day, just the two of you! Have roses waiting in the room for a romantic atmosphere.

  15. Step 15

You can use these ideas or you can use these to spur your imagination and come up with your own. You know your spouse better than anyone and a gift that is well thought out and tailor-made to your mate is the best gift of all!
