It can be hard to keep track of your child's acting earnings especially if production does not give you the right forms to fill out. Here is how you can check out if your child has any unclaimed earnings from working as a performer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First start by doing a search at the unclaimedcoogan website listed below. When a young performer cannot be located or if they do not have a Coogan Account the money they earned as a performer is sent to The Actors Fund who is the trustee of the money.

  2. Step 2

If you, are your child's name is found, then click the beneficiary link and fill out the form. The information will be verified and money deposited into your child's Coogan bank account, unless they have reached 18 or the age of maturity or became emancipated, then the funds will be dispersed to them with documentation.

  3. Step 3

Your child's money may have ended with the trustee because you do not have a Coogan Account set up for your child. You can set one up by contacting the Wells Fargo bank on the home page of the unclaimedcoogan website. You do not have to use that bank as there are other banks that also set up Coogan accounts. See the ehow article "How to get your child a Coogan Account" to learn more.
