I'll be honest in that at first I thought Twilight was going to be this teen generation's version of Titanic, in the sense of it being highly marketed. Since then I have seen the movie, then read the book, and watched the movie a second time. If you're unfamiliar with the series, this article will help you get the most out of the movie side of things.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • The desire to get the most out of watching the movie Twilight.
  1. Step 1

First of all, I would recommend reading the book before watching the movie. Before I knew the back story, I wondered as I was watching the movie why a few scenes were done a certain way. Reading the book helped those scenes make a lot more sense. Without reading the book, the movie is still good--you're just missing out on some things.

  2. Step 2

There are slight plot differences between the book and the movie, but I believe it was due to the length of time the movie had compared to how much time a person has to read the book. There are a few points in the book that don't get mentioned in the movie but help make the movie better if you know them.

  3. Step 3

Due to Stephanie Meyer's writing style, the Twilight book is very easy to get through--it took me about 5 days. It's been the same situation with most people I've spoke with about the book. It's a large book in terms of pages and chapters, but it's a page-turner.

  4. Step 4

Lastly, Stephanie Meyer's website has a lot of extra resources about the books and characters. She even has "outtakes" of portions of the books that had to be cut for mainly length reasons--some of which do give you extra information about the characters. I'll include a link to this under Resources.

on 12/27/2008 Very good information, thanks for the advice and resources about the book. 5 days to read any book is a good pace. I've been on one that I own for months now!
