Improving circulation in your body is a key element to improving your health. Your entire body revolves around how well your circulation is moving. It is incredibly easy to improve your circulation and yet, it has such dramatic improvements on your overall health. Your body will function better, your metabolism will improve and you will resist illness and disease to a greater degree.
Get moving! Your body being in movement causes your body's circulation to start moving faster to keep up with it. If you are normally very sedative in your activities, start slowly. Take short walks or do stretching exercises. If you are an active person already, consider taking on some aerobic exercises that will really get your circulation pumping.
Breathe deeper than usual. Take in a deep breath. Hold it for about 10-15 seconds and slowly exhale. This expands your lung capacity. Do this a few times a day. Nothing extreme. This will improve the circulation not only to you lungs but also your heart and brain, which need a good deal of oxygen to operate properly. The better they function, the more blood will circulate.
Eat healthy. Your body is not going to function at it's top levels if you are bogging it down with junk food or things that are difficult to metabolize. If you want to improve your circulation, eat lighter foods. Raw foods would be my top choice. They will peak your metabolism and get your circulation pumped up. Research has shown that certain herbs also improve circulation such as Ginko Biloba and cayenne pepper. Incorporate these sorts of herbs into your diet.
Get a massage. We all instinctively know that rubbing our hands when cold, warms them up. This is because it increases our circulation in that area. Massage of other areas also increases our circulation. You can hire a professional masseuse for a real treat or offer to take turns giving and receiving massages with a partner.
