Step 1
Every Birthday should be a time of celebration. However, a Baby's 1st Birthday is something special and should be celebrated accordingly. Think of it like, it is one year ago that this precious Baby was brought in to this world. Of course, at 1 year of age the Baby doesn't really understand what is happening, but it is still a time to celebrate. It is an event that you can look back on for years to come.

Step 2
First, make a list of who you plan to invite to the party. Second, send out invitations by mail asking for a definite response. It is important to have a pretty good idea on who plans on attending. If you do have the funds to spend, it is probably better having the event catered or at least have some one else prepare the food. If the party is held in the summer months, it would be nice to have the party outside, as long as it isn't to humid.

Step 3
Most importantly, the Birthday cake must be ordered. It would be wise to stick with a vanilla type sheet cake. In addition, you may want to consider having it decorated with Children's Cartoon Characters, or edible Candy Balloons or Streamers. Finally, it has been tradition in my family to prepare a hamper for the baby, the hamper should be filled with new clothing, and toys. Make sure you have plenty of film in your Camera and/or Video.
