In the market for a new home, but don't want to waste time scrolling through hundreds of MLS listings online? Here's an easy alternative to see exactly where an available property is located as well as pricing and listing details, using Google Maps. Using the street view option, you can even check out the neighborhood without ever leaving your home!

To start your search go to Google Maps. In the search box, type in the City and State of the location in which you'd like to find a new home. You can also type in an exact address, to search the surrounding areas.

Next type in the words "real estate" or "homes for sale" next to the address in the search box. Lastly, click on the button "Search Maps".
**This step has been updated to reflect changes made by Google Maps in February 2011.

You should now see lettered markers on the right side map, as well as pricing and a link to all properties within your search on the left. Click on any link to view more property details. You can now use this information to find out more about schools or businesses in the area, or general demographics. Happy Hunting!

just goes to show the strangle-hold realtors have over their MLS listings... even stronger than google.

ZipRealty.com does this but they don't work in Miami, FL any more so I'm looking for another site that would be able to show me homes for sale on a map view. It would be great to have it like in ZipRealty where can select the price range the home type and many there specs and then look at the map and search wich ever area you want to look at. Any one know of another site that works this way?
