Make a Valentine's Day Trinket Box for your Sweetheart

It is possible you received some interesting little boxes over the Christmas holiday. Perhaps a candy box or some other unique gift box. Turn that disposable box into a Valentine's Day treasure chest for your sweetheart with this fun craft project.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

Box
Glue
Tissue Paper
Paint Brush
Embellishments

Step 1

Tear tissue paper into small pieces and decoupage onto the outside of the box, using glue or special decoupage adhesive. Cover the outside of the box completely. After the outside is covered to your satisfaction, allow to dry before continuing with decoration.
Step 2

Embellish the exterior of the box with vintage Valentine's Day cards.
Step 3

Glue "Love" stamps on the outside of the box for decoration.
Step 4

Decorate box's exterior by adding lace, and coating with glue.
Step 5

Cover the interior of the box with fabric or paper. Add ornaments to the corners, such as this gold angel.
Step 6

Add magazine pictures to the interior of this box, such as this image of chocolate. Fill the box will real chocolate and candles for a romantic evening.
Step 7

Add ribbons and lace as handles. Use buttons and other ornaments to decorate the box.
