Things You'll Need:
- Will Power
-
Step 1
Weight yourself dailyBuy a scale. If you already have one, place it out in the open. You should check your weight daily. This will help reduce sudden weight gains as you will be conscious of where your weight is every day. You should weight yourself in the morning, before breakfast.
-
Step 2
Buy a reusable water bottle. Carry this with you everywhere! Drinking cold water is negative calories. Your body will burn more calories to process this intake than you did by consuming the product. Do not use flavored waters. The constant intake of water will cut back cravings and the tendency to overeat. The added water is also great for your energy level and your skin.
-
Step 3
Talk with your doctor regarding the best diet/meal plant for you. If you are simply wanting to cut back a few pounds, the water and scale will be a good start.
-
Step 4
Exercise in the comfort and privacy of your own home. It is less overwhelming to exercise with a DVD purchased from your local store than push yourself to join a gym. It's also cost effective!
-
Step 5
Cut the cola out of your diet. Even if your drink of choice is diet, cut it out! Sugar and sugar substitutes consumed through a beverage are doing more to hinder your weight loss than you realize. A simple avoidance of cola or soda drinks will rack up the pounds lost over a years time.
-
Step 6
Plan your meals. A planned menu and meal time will help to avoid a sudden rush for food and the bad food choices that coincide with this behavior.
-
Step 7
Eat your meals slowly. This will help avoid the overeating that can occur when food is consumed faster than your brain can process the signal that your stomach is actually full.
-
Step 8
Once you have realized your are full after consuming your meal, brush your teeth. A fresh mouth will help reduce the temptation to eat a little bit more. The ritual in itself will help to end the meal time in your subconscious.
