Things You'll Need:
- Corn flakes
- Eggs
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic Powder
- Milk
- Frying pan
- Cooking oil
- Meat tenderizer
- Tongs
-
Step 1
IngredientsGather the following ingredients: milk, cornflakes, eggs, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, chicken breasts, cooking oil, frying pan.
-
Step 2
Frying panHeat a frying pan with one inch deep cooking oil on medium to medium high heat. You can test the oil with a small piece of bread. If it browns nicely and floats to the top, the oil is ready. Remove the bread after testing.
-
Step 3
TenderizeBeat six chicken breasts with a meat tenderizor until they are approximately 1/4" in thickness.
-
Step 4
ScissorsUse scissors to cut 1 1/2" wide strips from the breasts.
-
Step 5
Corn FlakesPlace four cups of corn flakes cereal into a zip lock bag. Use your hands or a rolling pin to crush the cereal into a fine consistency.
-
Step 6
CerealPour the crushed cereal into a medium sized mixing bowl. Add one table spoon of salt, one tablespoon of pepper, one tablespoon of paprika, and one tablespoon of garlic powder. Use a whisk or fork to mix the dry ingredients.
-
Step 7
EggsCrack three eggs into a medium mixing bowl. Add 1/4 cup of milk. Beat together.
-
Step 8
Dip ChickenTake one strip and dip it into the egg mixture.
-
Step 9
Coat chicken stripsRoll the egg coated strip into the cereal mixture.
-
Step 10
Hot oilRe-dip the same strip into the egg mixture. Place, carefully, into the heated frying pan. Continue until you have about four or five strips in the pan. You don't want to overcrowd them, or they will not cook properly.
-
Step 11
Chicken stripsWhen the bottom of the strips are light golden brown, flip the strips with a tong or spatula. Allow strips to brown on the other side and then remove from oil and place on a paper towel lined plate. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
