Make Valentine's day special, by making valentine boxes at home with the kids. These instructions are how to make a Valentine's box. The kids had so much fun doing this, that they have been counting the days down for valentines day this year!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardboard box
  • Glue
  • Tissue paper
  • Small valentines gifts
  • Ribbon
  • Misc craft supplies
  1. Step 1

Make Valentines day special by involving the whole family. Create valentine boxes for each person. Have each child make theirs with the following instructions.

  2. Step 2

Find a small cardboard box. Before taping up the box and giving it to the kids to decorate, sneak in little valentines gifts. Line the box with tissue paper, your special gifts and then tape up the box on both sides.

  3. Step 3

Add a cut down the top of the box for valentine cards and letters.

  4. Step 4

Now that the box is all set, give the special valentine's day box to the kids to decorate.

  5. Step 5

Provide enough material so they can get creative. Make sure they add their name to the top and let them decorate as they please!

  6. Step 6

The last step is to have each kid make cards for each member of the family. They can spend all week making special valentine's day cards and notes about how much they love that person and why.

  7. Step 7

On Valentine's day, open up the boxes.

on 8/18/2009 I used to do this for my classroom, where we'd make one box and kids would drop Valentines Day cards in for their classmates. Doing it at home sounds like so much fun. Thanks for the idea.
