Learn How to Submit Your eHow Articles and Websites to Google for Quicker Indexing. Help Your Articles Show Up in Google Search Results Faster!

Once you're done writing your eHow article, it's time to get page views! Promoting eHow articles is a vital step and it can dramatically increase eHow earnings and page views. Submit the URL for your new eHow article to search engines like Google for quicker indexing. Once your eHow article is crawled by the Googlebot spider, Google indexes the information on your article, which will then show up in search engine results! Google will eventually find and index your new eHow article or website without any action on your part, but submitting the URL to the search engine helps speed up the process!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Computer
  • An Internet Connection
  • A New eHow Article or Website
  1. Step 1

WRITE YOUR eHOW ARTICLE or PREPARE YOUR WEBSITE TO GO LIVE: The first step is to create your website or write a good eHow article. Each eHow article should be focused around one primary keyword. Entire websites should also be keyword rich. Generally speaking, this optimizes the website or article and makes it perform better in search engine results.

  2. Step 2

PUBLISH YOUR eHOW ARTICLE or UPLOAD YOUR WEBSITE: In order to submit your eHow article to Google for indexing, you will need a URL. Your article is not assigned a URL until it is published. Drafts will not receive a URL, so you must wait until the article is published to proceed in submitting the URL to Google.

  3. Step 3

SELECT "GO TO ARTICLE" AND COPY THE URL: Once your new website is published, you'll need the main URL. Once a new eHow article is published, one of the option buttons that appears will be for "Go to Article." Select the "Go to Article" option. Once you've arrived on your or eHow article, highlight the URL and go into the "edit" menu at the top of the page and select "copy." Or, use the key command for copying (Apple "C" on a Mac.)

  4. Step 4

VISIT THE GOOGLE URL SUBMISSION PAGE: Next, open a new browser tab or browser window (this can be done by clicking on the "file" menu at the top of the page) and visit the Google URL submission page. I've included a link at the bottom of this page in "Resources"

  5. Step 5

PASTE THE URL INTO THE "URL" TEXT BOX: Paste the URL for your new website or eHow article into the text box labeled "URL." Paste by clicking your mouse in the "URL" box, then go up to the "edit" menu at the top of the page and select "paste." Or, you can use the paste key command (Apple "V" on a Mac)

  6. Step 6

ENTER COMMENTS: Below the box for the URL, there is a box marked "Comments" where you can put any notations. This is optional. If you'd like, you can enter the title of your new eHow article that you'd like to have indexed.

  7. Step 7

TYPE THE SQUIGGLY LETTERS: To prevent computerized URL submissions, Google uses a "captcha box" designed to help differentiate between automated URL submissions and human URL submissions. Below the "comments" box, you'll see a box with an image of colored, squiggly letters. Type the letters into the box below the image.

  8. Step 8

CLICK "ADD URL": Once you've entered the new website or eHow article's URL, any optional comments, and the captcha box letters, click the button that says "Add URL" and you're done! Your article will be added to Google's list of web pages to crawl with its spider, the Googlebot. To learn more about how spiders and the Googlebot works, see the related link below.

Tips & Warnings
  • You don't need to submit multiple articles for indexing at once. Once you submit one of your URLs, this will summon the Google spider to the site and it will perform a crawl, updating all information, including your other articles!
