The Powerlight 1250 is a fairly common film and photography light that is easy to use and simple to adjust. It has a number of possible mounting configurations, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. The ceiling mount is one of the most popular, and is designed for permanent and stationary shooting.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Locate a suitable place on the ceiling to mount the light. Keep in mind that simply screwing it into the drywall will not do, as the drywall will not hold the weight of the light. A solid support beam or stud are the only two viable options.

  2. Step 2

Screw the Powerlight 1250 mounting bracket into place, using a screwdriver and the provided screws. Make sure it is tight and secure before moving on to the next step.

  3. Step 3

Thread the Powerlight onto the mounting bracket. Make sure it lines up as thoroughly as possible, because you won't want to be constantly hauling out a ladder to adjust it later.

  4. Step 4

Fasten the bracket and the light together using the provided screws. They should be connected very tightly, as you don't want the light to accidentally fall off in the middle of a photo session.

  5. Step 5

Adjust the angle and plug in the light.

Tips & Warnings
  • When working with a ladder, always have someone hold the base for stability.
