Step 1
Tie a slip knot in the end of your yarn and secure it to the anchor peg of the Knifty Knitter loom. For help tying a slip knot, refer to the resource section below.
-
Step 2
The knit that results will be about half the width of the pegs covered on the loom. Knitting from pegs 12 inches wide will result in knitting that is approximately 6 inches wide. Use this information to determine how many pegs to wrap.
-
Step 3
The stitch is called "no wrap," but you will ewrap the Knifty Knitter loom once, and only once, for this stitch. Ensure each of the pegs that will be used are ewrapped one time. The top of the cursive "e" should face the outside of the Knifty Knitter loom. For more information on how to ewrap a Knifty Knitter Loom, refer to the resource section below.
-
Step 4
Take the yarn and run it in front of the pegs you just wrapped, above the loop on each peg. Skip the last peg wrapped this time through and begin on the next peg. Hook the loop with the Knifty Knitter hook, and lift the loop over the yarn and off the peg. The yarn you ran in front of the peg should remain on the peg and create a new loop. If you are panel knitting, work to the end, on the last peg circle the peg and run the yarn behind and back to the next peg to continue knitting off back across the row. If you are tube knitting, knit off continuously around the loom until your knitting reaches the desired length. The photo on the left shows the "no wrap" stitch being done, click it to enlarge.
-
Step 5
Continue to run the yarn in front of the pegs and knit off by pulling the loop up and off of each of the pegs as you work. When the knit is the desired length, you can remove the knit from the Knifty Knitter loom by sewing through each loop twice with a yarn needle.
