Sometimes you make a huge bunch of cookie dough and then realize that you don't feel like baking more than a couple of batches. What do you do with the rest of the dough? This works great for leftover sugar cookie dough, but also works well with other cookie doughs as well.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    The simplest thing to do with leftover sugar cookie dough is to freeze it. It can last three months in the freezer, and all you have to do is pull it out when you want to use it, saving you lots of hassle and dishes.

  2. Step 2

    You can make a fruit torte out of leftover sugar cookie dough. Just flatten some of the dough in a jelly roll pan until it's about a quarter inch thick, cook until done, and top with fruit and glaze. Easy. You can also use leftover sugar cookie dough to make a pie crust for a sweet pie.

  3. Step 3

    Let your kids play with the leftover sugar cookie dough. Give them some cookie cutters and sprinkles, and watch them have an absolute blast for hours! The cookies may be a bit tough and oddly shaped when the kids are done with them, but at least you didn't have to do the work. Well, except for the cleaning up!

  4. Step 4

    Give the leftover cookie dough to a friend or neighbor. In my town, the schools sell frozen cookie dough for $15 a pound as a fundraiser. People gladly pay the money. It would be a welcome gift to many.

  5. Step 5

    Don't worry about the leftover cookie dough. Sometimes you should just chunk things like this in the trash and go chill on the couch. Really.

  • Consider making leftover cookie dough on purpose so you'll be able to gift it, let your children make things with it, or use it at your convenience.
  • If you freeze your leftover sugar cookie dough, you may find that you take nibbles now and then until it is all gone. You know if you're a cookie dough eater, so beware!
