Instructions

    • 1

Use an electric mixer at medium speed to cream butter, milk, vegetable shortening and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Fold in whole eggs gradually, one at a time; blend well after each egg. Add in vanilla extract.

    • 2

Add in flour, salt and baking soda. Blend well with mixer. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

    • 3

Drop cookie batter by teaspoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet, leaving them each 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet.

    • 4

Bake the cookies at 350 F for 10 to 13 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove them from the oven and cool them on a wire rack in room temperature.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stop baking when the wafers start to brown. They will continue to bake because of the heat retained inside each cookie. If you continue baking them in the oven until they are fully browned, you'll get cookies that are too dry and hard to bite.
