Things You'll Need:
- Computer
- Access to the Internet
-
Step 1
First rule is to only buy things that are on sale. Believe when I say companies are competing aggresively to get your business. They offering free shipping, employee discounts to non-employees and even willing to haggle for a sale!
-
Step 2
Go the website of the company you are planning to purchase from, whether it be a store or travel services. For example, cruises are going at the lowest rates in decades. Don't bother paying a travel agent or broker for short cruises. All the information neede to take a cruise is listed on their websites.
-
Step 3
Again, check out the company website for coupons or special deals. Even the Walt Disney Theme Parks and Resorts are offering a free day on your birthday in 2009. I love Disneyland but when was the last time they gave you free admission on your birthday?
-
Step 4
Don't be afraid to haggle for a discount at your favorite store--especially for high end items such as flat screen TVs and jewelry. It does not cost you anything to ask and in fact it may save you money! This is not the time to be shy!
-
Step 5
Avoid putting things on a credit card as much as possible. Credit does not equal free. Wait until it goes on sale or haggle for it and then purchase it.
