Things You'll Need:
- Internet Access
-
Step 1
There are many free blogging websites... Blogger and Wordpress are two well known and easy to use websites. I will be using Wordpress in this eHow but you can use whichever you prefer.
-
Step 2
Signing up is easy. Your BIG decision will be the name of your blog for your home. Make it easy to remember. People who are looking for houses love to search the internet and see pictures before seeing a house "live". You can name your blog your home's address... 123MainStreet.Wordpress.com.
-
Step 3
Okay, so you have your name and you're ready to get started. First, take all the pictures and videos of your house and place them in a file where you can remember them easily.
-
Step 4
For some, it is best to sketch out the flow of your blog. Some of you might want to jump in and change things on the fly. When using the blog for a website you will be using "pages" instead of posts. Using "pages" will set up links along the side and top of your blog allowing people to click on whatever section they want to view.
-
Step 5
On each page you can add pictures with descriptions. You can also kick it up a notch and add video if you want. More pictures and videos will get potential buyers attention. When setting up your pages make sure to click off "allow comments" and "allow pings". This will make your pages look just like a webpage and not a blog with posts.
-
Step 6
Remember... Pages... not Posts.
-
Step 7
Add a sign outside in your front yard with your blog's address and voila... free real estate advertising.
