Make a Pastry Bag from Paper

Canvas pastry bags are great when you're using the same colored icing with many different tips. For ease, quickness and money savings... use parchment paper.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Parchment paper will allow you to make bags for each color you need as well as allow for quick clean up.

  2. Step 2

Rip off a piece of parchment shaped as a rectangle.

  3. Step 3

Hold the paper as such. Curve the one corner in toward the other corner.

  4. Step 4

You will see that as you wrap the parchment paper around your one hand in this fashion, the paper will take on the shape of a cone.

  5. Step 5

Pull the ends together in order to get a tight point to your cone. The tighter the point the better the pastry bag will work. Make sure the inside flap is pulled up and is even with the outside flap. This will prevent your bag from loosening and the end opening up and spilling all your icing onto the counter top or cake. Fill with icing or place a pastry tip inside and then your icing.
