Things You'll Need:
- pair of dice
-
Step 1
First of all, this world is made of both good and bad decisions. Keep in mind, that whatever that decision is, the world still manages to keep on turning. But what it doesn't turn on is no decision at all. If you are faced with a situation, and you're not too sure what exactly to do about it, ultimately what you DON'T do will hurt you. You need to come to a decision.
-
Step 2
Take your pair of dice and place a value on all of the number variables possible: 2 through 12. Maybe you'll decide the lower number pairings will mean that you will take a certain course of action. Or you may decide that the higher number pairings means you'll take a certain course of action. Decide now if either a high or low number means the possibility of what action.
-
Step 3
Take your situation, and decide what you will do with it. Every situation has two or more possible courses of action. BUT NEVER NO ACTION. So lets say you're deciding if you should take chemistry or math for college this semester. A low roll of the dice could mean you'll take chemistry. A high number could mean you'll take math. Take your situation and split it between two possible courses of action.
-
Step 4
Roll your dice.
-
Step 5
The midway mark is 6. If you rolled lower than six, take the action you placed on the lower variable. If you rolled over six, take the action you placed on the higher variables. If you rolled six, try again.
-
Step 6
What this does is make you comfortable taking ANY course of action. To often, we are faced with some pretty tough decisions that we hope will simply go away if we ignore it. And that is a decision, in and of itself. But of course, we are usually left wondering if we should do something, instead. Cast lots as a way to ensure that you will take some course of action. Which of course means you will always be moving forward, whether or not that decision was a good one or not. Good Luck!
