Things You'll Need:
- A scooter
-
Step 1
To increase speed on your scooter, you can first replace the air filter with a high performance filter. This will allow more air in the engine which will increase performance. This is one of the easiest modifications and the filter should be changed regularly as part of proper maintenance.
-
Step 2
Replace the current exhaust with a high performance exhaust. This in conjunction with the air filter will increase over all air flow through the engine adding speed and performance. The performance exhaust allows air to exit the engine faster, please do not be tempted to run your scooter with out an exhaust. Having no exhaust cases the engine to not run properly and will most likely be too loud for city ordinances.
-
Step 3
A more labor intensive project is to increase the displacement of the engine. This will require some small engines knowledge but will yield the best results. There are kits available that provide the necessary parts and can yield very satisfying results.
