Have a Happy Toddler Without Toys

As a person that has bought quite a bit of toys, now knows the secret to a happy toddler is more than what money can buy. Check out these tips in making your toddler happy without having to buy toys everyday.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Toy stores wants to make you believe that to make your toddler happy is if you buy their product. In reality, everyday products are toys in their viewpoint. Toddlers are happiest when they are interacting with a loved one.

  2. Step 2

To interact with your toddler, go with the classics. The classic games are peek a boo, singing songs, chasing each other around the house, reading books and paper and crayons.

  3. Step 3

Toddlers are also quite interested in the world. Take them out shopping and point to them the different colors, items that you pass by, and sounds and smells that you both experience. When grocery shopping, let them help you with bagging veggies and fruits while telling them what they are, how they feel, and how they smell.

  4. Step 4

Take your toddler out to children museums, art museums, plays, festivals and parks. Toddlers like experiencing new environments. You will be surprised how they will enjoy strolling through the works of Picasso or Rembrandt.

  5. Step 5

Toddlers are able to socialize more than when they were just infants. Try to get involved in a playgroup and show your toddler how to share, play nicely, and bond with other toddlers. Playgrounds and public libraries are great places to meet other toddlers in your area.

  6. Step 6

For some odd reason, the best toy my toddler has is her baby bottles. She loves taking them out of the cabinet and stuffing things in them and stacking them up like blocks. Toys on occasion are great but toddlers are happiest just by being with you!
