Things You'll Need:
- faith
-
Step 1
REFRAME YOUR PERSPECTIVE: It's easy, almost logical, to think that what happens to us on a daily basis is somehow organized, pre-ordained, controlled by us. But the reality is that the majority of what happens to us is completely random. For example, you have no control over the weather, traffic, people who stop to say "Hi" to you, the economy, telemarketers, cable television, etc. We're so used to these daily occurences, and actually expect them, that we condition ourselves into believing that we somehow had something to do with it. Reframe your perspective and understand that daily occurences are random. It's your reaction to them that remains controlled.

Step 2
DEVELOP FAITH: Of course, the above realization is scary. Are we really that vulnerable? No! All of recorded history has followed this same principle. And the world has been here for a very long time. It's actually a very safe place to be. You just have to develop enough confidence to thrive in it.
-
Step 3
SAY "YES" TO MORE OPPORTUNITIES: With that said, you should now begin to notice a variety of experiences waiting for you to explore. Pick and choose. Say "Yes" to more options, instead of saying "No" because it doesn't fit into your plans. Remember, you can always go home at the end of the day.

Step 4
EXPECT UNCOMFORTABLE FEELINGS: Any time you start something new, you will feel uncomfortable with it. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's not your intuition trying to tell you that you're about to go down the wrong path. It's not God or the devil sending you some sort of message. It's just new! More than likely, you're confusing nervous emotion with excitement. You're excited! But have forgotten what that feels like. Jump in. The water's fine.
