Don't Be Blue at the Holidays...Here's How...

Holidays don't have to be depressing. Here are some tips that might help...

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Expect the worst! When you do this, anything that is better or slightly better, will feel great.

  2. Step 2

Remember to keep some kind of schedule during the holidays--especially take time for good nutrition, good and regular sleep and exercise. One of the best reliefs from stress is walking..

  3. Step 3

Get support if you can, for events where you will meet with stressful or erratic people.

  4. Step 4

Avoid toxic people, whenever possible. When you do have to deal with them, keep it professional, brief and impersonal. Treat them like you would if it were a business deal--brief and professional

  5. Step 5

Make and keep your own traditions. And, hold fast to some kind of routine. Having your own traditions and routine will make you feel more in charge and comfortable.

  6. Step 6

And, lose yourself in the service of others. When you help another, you help yourself and often you feel more relaxed and in charge
