Bit Torrent is an online file sharing utility that is quickly replacing the P2P networks of old. It allows users a safer and more practical way of sharing files with one another and is a much more stable interface than its competitors. With a little effort, you can download almost every file imaginable, all it takes is some research and the patience to sit through a lengthy download.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Bit Torrent
  1. Step 1

Use the Internet to search for the .Torrent file you wish to download. These can usually be found simply by simply searching for your desired file, followed by the word "torrent" through any major search engine. Once you have located it, open it up using the Bit Torrent interface. A new menu will pop up.

  2. Step 2

Select the files in the package you wish to download. You will almost always want to download all of them, as not doing so can result in an incomplete or corrupted download. Hit "Ok." The box disappears and the .Torrent file is now opened up.

  3. Step 3

Hit the icon that looks like a "Play" button from a camcorder or VCR. This starts the download.

  4. Step 4

Click on Options -> Preferences. A new menu will open up. Click on "Bandwidth" in the left hand column.

  5. Step 5

Scroll to where it says "Global Download Rate Limiting." Set it to 0. This means that there will be no limit on how much data you computer expends on downloading the file, and therefore, the download will process much faster, making it possible to download even the largest files.

  6. Step 6

Hit "Apply" to make sure your changes take effect, and then hit "Ok" to close out of the menu. That's it! Happy Downloading!
