Installing new hardware onto a computer can be a difficult task for those who don't consider themselves technically savy. However, the Cannon printers on the market today make installation and use a virtual no brainer. With just a little work, you can have a priter up and running in mere minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Attatch the power cord and USB cord into their respective outputs on the printer.

  2. Step 2

Plug the other end of the power cord into an outlet, and the other end of the USB cable into your computer.

  3. Step 3

Insert the CD included with the printer into your CDROM drive. This will boot an installation menu. Click on "Install." In the next step of the installation process, you will be asked a number of prompts. The first prompt is the Terms and Conditions.

  4. Step 4

Click on "I agree" and then click "Next." Continue clicking "Next" through the remainder of the installation process. Eventually, the word "Next" will be replaced by "Finish", indicating that once you click on "Finish" the hardware installation will be complete.

  5. Step 5

Click on "Finish." The installation window will close and a message will appear, asking if you want to reboot your computer. Click on "Yes." Your computer will automaticly shut down and reboot, and when your operating system loads, your printer will work.
