Step 1
Understand what it is doing. Cider vinegar contains alpha-hydroxy acids. It helps eliminate fatty deposits on the skin and helps with reducing scaliness. It helps regulates the pH balance of the skin. This in turn results in softer and smoother skin.
-
Step 2
Make your acne treatment solution. Plain cider vinegar can be harsh on the skin. So the best thing to do is to dilute it in some water. A good rule of thumb is one part cider vinegar to 8 parts water. This would equate to 1 Tbs of cider vinegar to 1 cup of water. Store in a glass container with a lid. If you like, you can grind up a couple of aspirin and add to this solution. Aspirin contains saliclic acid which can help with drying up acne.
-
Step 3
Use cider vinegar as a spot treatment. You can use cider vinegar as a spot treatment for blemishes and pimples; dunk a cotton ball in your cider vinegar solution that you made ahead of time. Blot it directly on any blemishes, pimples or zits you currently have.
-
Step 4
You can also use your cider vinegar solution as a skin toner. Wash your face as normal and then splash the solution on your face in place of your regular toner.
-
Step 5
Drink the vinegar as a detox drink. This will help cleanse you out from the inside. Being healthy all the way around will promote better clearer skin. Mix 2 Tbs of cider vinegar in 1 cup of water. Sweeten with honey if desired. Drink.
