  • white vinegar

      Wipe up any vomit that you can with a damp cloth (use water).

      Baking Soda

      Sprinkle the baking soda over the affected area liberally. Any brand of baking soda will work.

      White Vinegar

      Pour white vinegar liberally over the baking soda. The mixture will bubble up and break down the protiens that make up the odor. Let it soak in for 5 minutes.

      Scrub

      With a clean damp towel (use water), scrub the area vigorously. Rinse out the towel and repeat.

      Dry the Carpet

      Let the area dry. If the smell persists, repeat all of the above steps. The smell will come out. Deep carpets and thick padding typically require two or more applications. Some carpets may take as much as 24 hours to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not use red vinegar or balsamic vinegar or you may stain your carpet.
