1
Paint the room either a neutral or lush color. Depending upon your personality, paint the room a nude pinkish or tan color, or a lush, sensuous velvety burgundy or gold copper tone. Hang pictures slightly off center and lower to create a warmer feel in the room.

2
Create a resort-style headboard by stapling up foam behind the bed and tucking fabric around it. Nail it to the wall with upholstery tacks. Use the fabric around the headboard to create a luxury vibe and to muffle noise, instead of a wooden headboard. Hang mosquito netting over your bed to create sheer, romantic curtains.

Pile up comfy cushions and pillows. Throw pillows or large velvet pillows accent a bed well. Pillows that you sleep on should be plush and filled with goose down or regular feathers, at the very least. Choose pillows according to how you sleep. For example, if you sleep on your stomach, choose a very soft pillow, and if you sleep on your back, go for a pillow that is medium-firm.

5
Purchase a quality mattress for good support, which is essential for a good night's sleep. Flip over the mattress every few months to keep it in prime condition.
-
6
Add sensuous touches, such as placing high-quality scented candles throughout the room or dusting your bed with perfumed body powder.
