Step 1
Decide what kind of podcast you are looking for. There are countless forms of podcasts both in audio and video formats available including radio programs, television broadcasts, language lessons, sports, art, science, education, children's programs, travel, exercise, business, religion and so much more.
-
Step 2
Search online for general free podcasts or specific topics you are interested in. For example you could search for "free guitar lessons podcast", "free yoga podcast", "top rated podcasts" etc. You may want to try different spellings to bring up more results, such as "podcast" and "pod casts".
-
Step 3
Consider using web sites that are podcast directories. These compile lists of podcasts and give reviews to make your search easier. You can find these by doing an online search for "podcast directory".
-
Step 4
Check with other sources such as iTunes or other Mp3 providers. Many offer free selections of podcasts.
-
Step 5
Look at services or companies you already use. For example, many television stations offer some forms of podcasts for popular news or educational programming. Try searching on the web sites of companies you are familiar with.
Some examples of web sites that offer free podcasts can be found in the resources section below. -
Step 6
Once you find podcasts that interest you, listen or watch them by downloading to your Mp3 player such as an iPod, or through your computer. To use your computer, you will likely need to have some form of media player software. If you do not already have this, downloads are easy to find and are usually available for free on the web sites where the podcasts are located.
