"Fum, Fum, Fum! We will have the sweetest buns and candy!"

...So says the Christmas carol!

This delicious candy is great for the Christmas, Valentine's Day or any time.

There are many variations, but this is my own personal favorite. Sometimes I like to add a layer of crunchy peanut butter to the top. If you do this, be sure to put it in the freezer just long enough to set the layer.

This is also a great candy to make for home made gifts. Cut the candy into small pieces, wrap them in wax paper and put it into tins.

Be sure to keep it refrigerated!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 12 0z. chocolate chips
  • 12 oz. butterscotch chips
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c dry instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 c. peanut butter
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 2 lbs. powdered sugar
  1. Step 1

Melt and mix chips and peanut butter.

  2. Step 2

Put half of mixture in a jelly roll pan and freeze.

  3. Step 3

Mix butter, evaporated milk and dry pudding.

  4. Step 4

Bring to a boil and boil one minute.

  5. Step 5

    Add vanilla, then powdered sugar.

  6. Step 6

Spread over first layer and freeze.

  7. Step 7

Take the remaining half of the first layer, spread it over the second layer and freeze.

Tips & Warnings
  • You only have to freeze the layers long enough so that they become firm and won't mix with the next layer.
  • For thinner bun candy: 1/2 the recipe can be made in a 9x13 inch pan.
