Step 1
This guide is truly easy to do. All you need is an emulator to play the games and roms, which are the actual games themselves. To find an emulator, it depends on the system that you would like to play. If you want to play N64 games, try the emulator Project64. It is the most reliable of all the emulators and is free. If you want to play super Nintendo games, try ZNES emulator. As with Project 64 it just works.

Step 2
From the same site that you downloaded the emulator, look for some roms of the games that you want. If you can't find them there, try a simple google search. Most roms should not be larger than a few megabytes, so don't download a file that is much larger. It could be a virus or other malware. Remember to be safe and scan any files with a virus checker before you download them.

Step 3
Most emulators don't need to be installed, and will just run straight off the internet. To load a game, click the file button and find "load rom." Find the rom file and double click it. Your game should start. Remember that roms are not completely polished games, and sometimes they have trouble. Try reloading it or looking online for other information.
