Things You'll Need:
- time
- computer
- internet
-
Step 1
Make comments on articles, but don't say anything unless you have something nice to say. Not every article will be for you. I don't own a pet, so pet articles don't really apply to me, so I usually look through the persons list of articles and find one that does apply to me. If I still can't find some, like if all of their articles are about caring for pets, I can still leave a comment telling them that the article was written well. If you find something wrong with the article, don't leave it in the comments, private message the person so not to embarrass them. To find new articles to comment on, click the "community" tab, then click "forums", click "Community Chatter", then you will see a date with the word "articles" after it, click on it and go through the list. This is where writers list their new articles that they really want to get seen.
-
Step 2
Give people star ratings, but if you really don't like the article, it is better to not rate it then to leave a bunch of one and two stars. It's easy to leave a star rating. Just run your mouse over the stars and click on the star that you want to give them. Remember that 5 stars is on the right!!!
-
Step 3
Add articles to your favorites if you think you may want to review it again.
-
Step 4
Recommend people!!! Other writers LOVE to know they are being recommended! This is so easy to do. If you have not recommended that person yet, then on their profile page there will be the blue words "recommend [their username]" beside their name and you just have to hit those blue words and you will see their recommendations go up.
-
Step 5
Make Friends!!! Add people you meet and new people to your friend's list. To find people to connect with, you can click on the boxes that say "featured members" and start reading some of their articles. Make sure you do steps 1-5 and then add them to your friend's list. Another way to make friends is to add brand new people. A lot of newbies feel really strange at a new place and adding them to your friend's list gives them someone to connect with. You can find out who is really new by clicking the "community" tab, then click "members" and this brings up a list of people who just signed up.
-
Step 6
Answer questions on the forum. When you feel comfortable enough and feel you know your way around E-how enough, start answering questions on the forum. This is a big help to others who are less familiar to E-how.
