Change Your Home Page In Microsoft Internet Explorer

Changing your home page in Microsoft Internet Explorer is the first thing you'll want to do to customize your web browsing experience. The procedure is very simple and takes only a moment to complete. This article will show you how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start Microsoft Internet Explorer. If the icon does not appear on your desktop, you will find it under Start->Programs.

  2. Step 2

Type the URL (HTTP address) of what you would like to be your home page into the white box at the top of the page.

  3. Step 3

Press "ENTER" and go to the web page you desire.

  4. Step 4

At the top of the Internet Explorer window, find the "Tools" button and click it with your mouse.

  5. Step 5

Move the mouse down to "Internet Options" at the bottom of the "Tools" menu and click.

  6. Step 6

Where it lists your "Home Page" settings, click the "Use Current" button to change the home page to the page currently open in Internet Explorer.

  7. Step 7

Click the "Apply" button and then click the "OK" button. Your home page should now be set.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do not want to have a home page, simply click "Use Blank" instead of "Use Current," then click "OK." Internet Explorer will open a blank page instead.
