Stop eating when you feel full. This is not when you feel full and bloated. Many people make the mistake of eating until they feel that type of full. You need to pay attention when you eat. As soon as you feel the hunger go away stop eating to lose weight. The feeling of being full will usually come a few minutes later. This is how you lose weight and keep it off.

Avoid emotional eating. There are people who drown their worries and depression with food. Do not do this if you want to lose weight. If you feel like your emotions are taking over, step away from any food that may be around. Go out for a walk instead to clear your mind so that you can tell if you are really hungry.
