Cleanse your body and mind with the Detox Diet.

You've probably heard about the Detox Diet, about how it eliminates harmful toxins from your cell tissues but you may not have tired it...thinking you had to buy an entire diet program. Fortunately, the Detox Diet can be done at home, by buying the foods you need and avoiding the toxic ones for a period.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first step in the Detox Diet is to eliminate the daily toxins you consume. This isn't as hard as you think. Make a list of every food you eat that is fried, has caffeine, comes in a can or is highly processed. If you're a big coffee drinker, start to cut your coffee consumption two weeks before going on the Detox Diet to keep from getting a caffeine withdrawal headache.

  2. Step 2

Make another list. Your first list might have made you a little sad but on this list, you will put all the foods you like (or can tolerate) that include, raw vegetables and fruits and also frozen ones, gluten-free breads, raw nuts, like almonds, pecans, walnuts and peanuts (without salt, of course) and white fish. Some people skip the fish for a quicker detox.

  3. Step 3

Drink until your eyeballs are floating. Forget tap water unless you have an installed Reverse Osmosis unit. Purchase distilled water and drink it in hot teas and in cold drinks. Use herbal teas, and add fresh slices of ginger to speed the Detox Diet plan. Squeeze fresh lemons into your distilled water to rid yourself of water weight.

  4. Step 4

For the first two days, keep a few snack baggies full of nuts, raw fresh veggies and croutons you make from 100% gluten-free breads, sprinkled with spices but no salt. Carry water bottles with you everywhere and drink even if you're not thirsty.

  5. Step 5

On the third day, take one tablespoon of organic olive oil three times a day. Do this for three days. You can put it on your vegetables if you have a hard time swallowing it from a spoon. Continue to drink ginger tea, lemon water and plain water in large amounts.

  6. Step 6

Also on the third day, begin doing daily salt rubs during your morning shower. This removes the dead skin cells and invigorates the growth of new skin at the same time your inner cells are detoxing and rejuvenating. Mix 1/2-cup of sea salt with 2-tablespoons of pure Peanut Oil and use this to scrub your entire body with after you wash. Rinse off but do not use more soap. Your skin will smooth all day.

  7. Step 7

Make soups and broths to aid in your Detox Diet. Use celery instead of starch to thicken your soups. A good detox soup starts by putting some diced garlic and onion in the bottom of a small pan and cooking it in oilive oil until it is soft, just a couple of minutes. Then, add your choice of fresh or frozen veggies - a few cups - and add water, just until it covers the veggies. Put on a lid and simmer the mixture for thirty minutes. Puree the soft veggies, with the water they cooked in and return them to the pan. Now, add a few more chopped veggies and cook just until they are tender. Use spices but no salt. Toss gluten-free croutons on top.

  8. Step 8

Follow the Detox Diet for at least one week and then you can gradually add some organic meat and other items. But remember, you felt so good after the diet was over because you got rid of all the toxins in your cells that built up from a bad diet. Whenever you start feeling sluggish again - do another week of the Detox Diet.
