Want to learn to make a sign? It's easy with Printmaster 17 to make signs for the kids doors, yard sale signs, or whatever you want to say. Here is how I make paper signs on my computer.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Printmaster 17
  • Printer
  • Computer
  1. Step 1
    Select Create Brand New Project.
    Select Create Brand New Project.

    Open up Printmaster 17 and select "Create Brand New Project".

  2. Step 2
    Select blank page, then next.

    Then, select "Blank Page", and click on next.

  3. Step 3
    Choose the orientation and click finish.

    Choose the orientation you want. I like to use wide. Then click finish.

    Add or edit text, then add headline.

    Select "Add or edit text", then select "add headline.

    Put in your text.

    Type your text into the text box. It will accept up to 3 lines of text. Now you can choose a ready made headline from the list below the box, or choose custom. For ready made headlines, choose one then skip to step # 10.

    Choose your font. The silly one I am going to use is called jokerman. You can also make it bold or in italics.

  7. Step 7

    Now choose a color. You can use a solid color, or select a blend that changes for each solid color you select.

    Next, we will put an outline around the text. Choose outline. The first one that comes on when you choose it is no outline. Select the second or third one. It will automatically outline in red, but you can change that color as well.

    There are depth and shadows and other tools you can use. When you get what you want, select ok at the bottom and it will be on your blank page. It will be jumbled up like you see in the screen shot.

    Right click on the image and select "Size" then "full page".

    Now you have a finished Printmaster 17 sign. You need to select File in the top left corner, then EXPORT AS. For printing your own, 150 dpi is fine and it is set to that. It will say your own artwork. Click continue.

    Name it and save it as jpg for printing at home. If you want to put it on a shirt or something someplace like Cafepress, save it at 300 dpi and save it as a png, or portable network graphic, file.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to use Export as when you save the file. That way you can put it in your picture folders or wherever you want.
