..you guessed it!

Red hair color. Here today, gone in a couple of shampoo's. How do you get it to hang around a while longer? Here's another method.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Redken hair color in your choice of red
  • Redken Shades EQ in clear(don't forget the proc. solution).
  • Redken's color extend shampoo and conditioner will be helpful too.
  • CHI ceramic iron.
  1. Step 1

Apply and process your hair with the selected color. Rinse out and then blow dry the hair.
Mix a 1:1 ratio of Redken's Shades EQ with processing solution. Apply to the hair and let process. Rinse, shampoo and condition.

  2. Step 2

Proceed to blow dry the hair. Use a thermal protectant and flat iron the hair with a CHI ceramic iron. The far-infrared heat and the negative ions will aid in sealing in the color. The clear Shades EQ works as a glaze over the red hair color, like a sealant and it also gives the hair a nice shine. Shades EQ clear can be used over any hair color. It is also used in salons to use over natural hair color to give the hair shine. We call it a 'glaze' or 'gloss' service and it's also an upsell or an add-on service.

  3. Step 3

Be sure to use a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair such as Color Extend by Redken.
