Instructions

    • 1

Find a grassy, shallow area where Sea Trout will hunt for food. During the summer, the bays and inlets of Florida and Louisiana are perfect spots. Winter Sea Trout also frequent these areas, as well as the inlets to rivers and streams.

    • 2

Wade or kayak through the area and look for signs of activity-fish jumping, bait fish pods and structure are all places to find Sea Trout. Sea Trout also hide in the sea grass.

    • 3

Cast your bait towards the area where you think there are Sea Trout. Use a live "Greenback" minnow (minnow with a green back) hooked through the back right behind the head. Or use an artificial lure.

    • 4

Gently work the live bait or lure along the sea grass or structure, giving the Sea Trout enough time to strike.

    • 5

Work a single area for about twenty minutes and keep moving if you do not catch any Sea Trout.
