How to Virtually Try On Hairstyles
Trying a new hairstyle can make you very nervous. After all, just because a hairstyle looks good on a friend doesn't mean it will look good on you. When contemplating a new "do," many women consider the shape of their face, their skin tone and the ease or complexity of keeping up with the new style. Thanks to today's technology, women can now try out hundreds of different hairstyles without having to cut or style a single lock. Yes, with just a few clicks of the mouse, you can find the style you've been looking for without the fear of being stuck with a hairstyle you don't like. Does this Spark an idea?

Pull your hair back off of your face and away from your ears and neck. Take a headshot of yourself. The picture should include your head, neck and the tops of your shoulders. Be sure the picture is set at a good resolution.

Go to dailyglow.com/virtual-makeover and click the button near the bottom of the page that reads "Upload a Photo." Choose your photo and click next.

Choose the skin tone that best represents yours in natural light. On the next page, drag the blue crosses to the center of the eyes on your picture. This helps the software determine your eye placement for some of its other features.

Use your mouse to drag the pink dots to the appropriate position to trace your face. Determining the proper face shape is essential in choosing a new hairstyle. Verify your eye and lip points on the next two pages by again dragging the pink dots to the appropriate positions.

Register for free to save your work and continue the process. Enter your name, e-mail address and username.

Click on either of the two tabs. The first is a gallery of celebrity hairstyles. The second is a gallery of other popular hairstyles. Click on any hairstyle you would like to virtually try on. Use the sliders under your picture to change the width or length of the style to adequately fit your face.

Drag the hairstyle to the appropriate position and change colors by using the color palette in the bottom left-hand corner.

Use the tabs above your picture to add make-up and accessories to complete your virtual makeover.
