Most any hardware store sells door bumpers. You might need to explain to a salesperson that you want to buy something to protect your interior wall from doorknob damage.
-
2
First you want to gently open the door and locate exactly where the doorknob touches against your interior wall. You can make a mark with a pencil if you desire.
-
-
3
Peel the protective cover off the adhesive backing where you will attach the circular disk to the wall.
-
4
Press the bumper onto the wall where it will be contacted by your doorknob. The foam adhesive on the back of the bumper absorbs shock.
-
5
If you want the bumper to match the color of your wall, you may put a coat of paint over it. If you have wallpaper, you can also glue a bit of wallpaper over the bumper if desired.
-
6
If you painted the bumper, wait until the paint is completely dry before any contact is made with the wall.

Good advice! The hotel I worked at as a teen had a bumper behind every door, hundreds all together. They certainly do the job!! -

Excellent, Toby Lee. I know about the little floor-level doohickeys, but the door bumpers are new to me. Thanks a bunch.
