Things You'll Need:

  • computer
  • printer
  1. Step 1

Check out www.quintcareers.com and purchase Knock 'em Dead by Martin Yate. Pick out some ideas from these sources.

  2. Step 2

Resumes should be one page only. Only use two pages if absolutely necessary. Change spacing or font size to decrease the number of pages.

  3. Step 3

Use the thesaurus and active words such as created, annexed, and increased. Use Times New Roman for the font. Do not use and flamboyant types or hard to read types of font.

  4. Step 4

Include projects that are clear objectives. For example, increased efficiency by 30% or decreased costs by $20,000. Also talk about any supervisory or managerial work performed.

  5. Step 5

Maintain more than one resume. Each resume should be tailored to the job you are trying to get. Delete irrelevant information and add necessary information depending on which resume is being created.
