You can't get anywhere now a days without having credit. Bad credit can be a hindrence with you are turned down for a car loan or a house loan. It's easy to improve your credit score. Here are a few tips to help you get the higher numbers on your next credit check.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Even if you have bad credit, you can get a credit card. Yes, the interest rate will be extremely high but this will change as you improve your credit. Apply for a credit card and when you get it put it away! DO NOT put it in your wallet or purse!

  2. Step 2

Only use the credit card to pay your bills - rent, electricity, water, etc. Don't use it to buy random things that you don't really need. Again, don't put it in your wallet or purse to keep the tempation to use it at bay.

  3. Step 3

Since you would normally have the cash to pay your bills, use it instead to pay off the credit card (that you used to pay the bills in the first place.) This keeps the interest from stacking up against you. Basically, pay off the credit card balance every month!

  4. Step 4

After continually doing this for six months, you can apply for a new credit card with a lower interest rate! Repeat these steps again until your credit score is where you would like it to be. For more credit improving tips, I provided some links for you below.

Tips & Warnings

  • DO NOT put the credit card in your wallet or purse! I know I've repeated this many times, but it's important. If it's not easily accessible when you are at the store, you won't be tempted to use it on frivolous things.
  • Make the payments on time otherwise this will be pointless.
