You can perk up your houseplant by spending a few seconds a day and performing a simple exercise with it whenever. It's fun to watch it respond and it seems to work better than fertilizer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • You don't need any equipment; just attention to your plant whenever you feel like it.
  1. Step 1

Get close to your plant and stick your face in as close as you can. You can start by talking or singing to it if you like. Begin gently blowing on plant from all sides if possible.

  2. Step 2

Start blowing a bit harder on your plant; huffs and puffs, or long drawn out breaths, or even sneezing will be appreciated by plant. The more you puff, the more plant likes it. It's impossible to blow too much.

  3. Step 3

Jostling and shaking plant is good exercise for it and gives it an allusion of being outdoors. Turning often is good, too. Keep blowing as you rustle it. Your lungs will get stronger in no time and so will plant.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your plant is large enough, you can take hold of the stems or branches and really shake it. Pretend you're the wind, or maybe a fierce gale. Plant will love it!
  • And your lungs will feel better and be healthier for getting rid of stale air and toxins.
  • Take it easy if you're not use to using your lungs. You wouldn't want to faint or hyperventilate from overly strenuous blowing would you?
  • Do keep a little more distance from a cactus and don't bother shaking it.
